ARCHBISHOP EMERITUS OSCAR LIPSCOMB dies at the age of 88 (1931 - 2020)
From the Desk of the Director, Ellen Taylor (July 2020)
With the passing of Archbishop Lipscomb this week, it feels like the end of an era. Very rarely are bishops appointed to their home diocese, but both the city of Mobile and the Archbishop were blessed with this circumstance. How wonderful for him to be able to serve out his calling among his friends and family. We pray for the repose of his soul and thank God for all the blessings he brought to our area. Archangel Radio will carry the funeral mass live on Tuesday at 11am. With attendance limited during this time, we hope you can join us on 1410AM, 94.5FM or on the Archangel Radio app.
Thursday, we’re going to try to add some fun into the week. Join me and Michele McAloon for a live zoom Q and A with author Stephen Mosher as we discuss his book The Bully of Asia. We’ll practice safe social distancing and there is even outside seating at the Page and Palette. Stop in for a beer and some lively conversation, it all begins at 4pm on Thursday in downtown Fairhope. See you then.
